5 star telecoms infrastructure for Yorks first 5 star hotel
The Grand Hotel & Spa is York’s first 5-star hotel and the only 5-star hotel in Yorkshire, having first opened in May 2010 with 107 bedrooms, including 13 suites and a penthouse, the hotel is now set to double in size through a £15 million investment. The two year renovation project will turn a neighbouring empty office block into an extension of the Grade II listed hotel, creating 107 executive suites, and a 160-seater restaurant
QDOS was contracted by the hotel owners, Splendid Hospitality Group to provide full 24/7 service on the Mitel 3300 MXe Telephone System, ensuring that communication would be as simple and effective as possible for staff and guests.
Mitel IP Handsets were installed at reception and in the back office, providing rich communications applications and services on a large display programmed for a variety of functions. Mitel Wireless Handsets were installed for the management team and housekeeping users who need to be reachable or able to access their messages throughout the building.
In addition, to ensure the best performance for the telecoms infrastructure, QDOS has installed a Mitel Border Gateway delivering business grade quality of service (QoS) on cost effective and flexible SIP Telephone Lines.
