Birmingham Airport has recently introduced its newest hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, adding to the existing four onsite hotels. The 178 room hotel provides customers with ultimate convenience and ease of travel, being located only 100 metres away from the airport passenger terminal. The Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham Airport has opened with the reassurance of Telecoms & IT services provided by QDOS-sbl.
With a long-standing history providing ICT services for other franchised Hilton properties across the UK, QDOS-sbl was delighted to be asked to provide a converged Telecoms and IT platform for the newly built hotel, meeting Hilton ICT Brand Standard requirements.
In addition to directly providing converged Telecoms and IT hardware and software, the QDOS-sbl team also provided project management of third-party suppliers to ensure all technology was delivered on time and to budget. These included; Posera – ePOS point of sale; Acentic – WiFi and Hotel TV; and GuestTek – public area Internet stations.
To support the hotels critical Internet, Telecoms and IT networks QDOS-sbl installed a 1Gb Exponential-e Fibre Leased Line with secure VLANS for guest & administration Internet. Together with cost-effective, futureproof SIP Telephone Lines. QDOS-sbl also supervised the installation of the Hilton Information Technology System (HITS) Agreement, including: OnQ Property Management System (PMS) platform for hotel operations, offering comprehensive, next-generation capabilities hotels need to enhance guest experiences and improve operating efficiency.
To meet Hiltons ICT Brand Standard requirements, QDOS-sbl installed a Mitel 3300 MXe111 Telephone System delivering voice, messaging, mobility, presence, conferencing, collaboration and applications. Feature rich Mitel 5330E IP handsets were installed in reception with 5320e IP handsets for the back office team. Mitel 5624 WIFI handsets were installed for mobile staff with Telematrix 3300MWD5 handsets supplied with personalised faceplates and button programming for guest rooms. Mitel Connected Guests Innline IP was installed to combine voicemail, automated attendant and hospitality specific features such as wake-up calls into one system, turning the guest room phone into a complete information centre.
HP server and network switch technology was provided along with HP G3 PC’s and laptops using Veeam Backup Essentials to deliver fast, reliable and cost-effective enterprise-level backup, restoration, replication and recovery for all workloads — virtual, physical and cloud from a single management console. Autotask Endpoint Management (AEM) Remote Monitoring and Management SaaS tools deployed deliver visibility and control over all devices supported, across multiple operating systems – all through a single platform in the QDOS-sbl 24×7 Network Operations Centre.
